  1. Cathedral Chorale. This auditioned volunteer choir draws members from both the local Morningside Heights community and the greater New York City area. It meets for rehearsals on Wednesday nights from September through May. The Chorale often joins the Cathedral Choir for services throughout the year, including Christmas, Easter, and St. Francis Day.

The choral prelude consists of a minute program of sacred a cappella music sung from to pm, just prior to the 4 pm service, where the prelude choir is invited to stay.

  8. Professional musicians sing alto/countertenor, tenor and bass in the Boys Cathedral Choir and Girls Cathedral Choir, with the choristers from St. Alban’s School and National Cathedral School. When the choristers are on academic break, the Cathedral Singers is comprised of sixteen professional singers.
